I'm Devraj Bhatt, founder of Onset.
I've spent 6 years in training for physical strength, and in that time I've learned something most people never get taught: strength isn't built in the moments you feel motivated. It's built in the ones you don't — the early mornings, the sessions you almost skipped, the reps you did anyway.
I didn't come into fitness through a gym membership or a New Year's resolution. I grew up genuinely fascinated by it — watching people who were strong, capable, in control of their own bodies, and wanting that for myself. So I started training. No proper guidance, no coach, no one to tell me what I was doing right or wrong. Just me, figuring it out, one session at a time.
I made every mistake you'd expect from that. Wasted time on the wrong things, plateaued without knowing why, second-guessed myself more than I needed to. But I never stopped. Something about the process — the discipline, the slow proof that consistency actually works — kept pulling me back in, even when progress was slow, and nobody was watching.
That's the part of my story that matters most to you: I know what it feels like to want this badly and not have anyone in your corner showing you the way. I got qualified so that no one training with me has to go through that alone. You shouldn't have to waste years figuring out what someone with real guidance could show you in months.
Whatever you're chasing — your first real strength gain, a body you're proud of, or just becoming someone who shows up for themselves — I'm not here to hand you a generic plan. I'm here to give you what I didn't have: someone who's already been where you're standing, ready to make sure you get there faster than I did.
Silence, then force.

"The impediment to action advances action. What stands in the way becomes the way."
-"Marcus Aurelius"
Every obstacle — fatigue, a bad day, a plateau — isn't something training happens despite. It's the actual material training is made of. The struggle isn't the way of progress. It is the progress.
My Training Philosophy
Most people treat obstacles as something that happens despite — the bad night's sleep, the sore joint, the day motivation just doesn't show up. I don't train that way, and I don't coach that way either.
Every obstacle you hit under the bar is the actual material you're building with. The set that feels heavier than it should. The week your numbers don't move. The morning you genuinely don't want to be there. None of that is interference. It's the work itself, in its rawest form — and it's exactly where real strength gets built, because anyone can train when it's easy.
This is why I don't program around motivation. I program around consistency, because motivation was never reliable enough to build anything on. What stands in your way — fatigue, doubt, a plateau, a bad day — isn't a detour from the plan. It becomes the plan. You don't wait for the resistance to disappear before you move. You move, and the resistance becomes the thing that makes you stronger than you were before you met it.
That's the whole idea behind Onset. Silence — the discipline to keep showing up without needing to feel ready. Then force — the effort that follows, once you've already decided. The obstacle was never standing between you and the result. It was always the way there.
